Presbyterian Women's Organization
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit
ourselves: To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study, to support the mission of
the church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring
community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Chruch (USA) and witnesses to the
promise of God's Kingdom.
Wide Awake (OPC Youth Group)
Here at Oxford Presbyterian Church (OPC) we have an awesome Youth Group! From the
8:08 Band providing good music to fundraisers through selling calendars, notepads, and
greeting cards to barbeque plates. These fundraisers help to support the Annual Youth
Missions. We would like to invite all the local youth in the community to join us in worship
on Sunday mornings at 8:08 a.m.
Presbyterian Men
You’re invited to come take part in the building of friendship, mutual encouragement and
opportunities for ministry with the Presbyterian Men’s gathering at Oxford Presbyterian.
Men’s Monthly Dinner
The first Wednesday evening of each month, the men gather at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship
hall for a hearty dinner and lite-hearted conversation. The informality and easy-goingness
of the meal make it a great place for meeting others and making new friends. At the end of
each meal, the men discuss what tasks they can perform and help in upholding and
furthering the ministry of the church. These have included building and property projects
as well as support for mission both near and far.
Men’s Annual Stew Fundraiser
The first Saturday of October the men make some of the best Brunswick stew found
anywhere in the world. The proceeds from the sale of this stew go toward supporting the
ministry and mission of Oxford Presbyterian Church. You’re invited to one of the very best
Saturday’s of the year in the making of this stew.
Christian Education Committee
As we seek to live in the culture of Jesus Christ at OPC, the Christian Education Committee
desires to be responsive to the needs of those who seek to know and share the "good news"
of his love , grace, and salvation. Christian Education opportunities include but are not
limited to:
Adult Sunday School - Sunday 9:45-10:30 a.m.
Currently the group is studying Arnold Rhodes' "The Mighty Acts of God." Four teachers
rotate instructional duties. Lessons always include substancial opportunity for class input
and discussion.
Elementary Sunday School - Sunday 9:45-10:00 a.m.
Students in elementary grades enjoy the curriculum entitled "The One Room Sunday
School" each week. Three teachers share teaching responsibilities. Students enjoy the
casual and fun setting to learn about God's Word.
Youth Sunday School - Sunday 9:45-10:00 a.m.
OPC Pastor Alan Koeneke leads the Youth Sunday School each week. Class members take
on relevant topics and seek for meaning and guidance in God's Word.
Pre-School Sunday School - Third Sunday 8:08 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
Using the "One Room Sunday School" curriculum, preschoolers are offered formal Sunday
School on the third Sunday of each month during the worship hours at OPC. Other weeks,
lessons are offered casually during worship hours by those attending the church nursery.
Children's Church - Sunday 11:00 a.m.
During the 11:00 a.m. worship hour, children of all ages are invited to share in a Children's
Sermon early in the service. They are then dismissed to attend Children's Church which is
age-appropiate follow-up to their worship experience.
